Başkent Washington'da Capital Yahudi Müzesi yakınlarında İsrail Büyükelçiliği'nde görevli dört çalışan, müzedeki etkinlikten çıktıktan sonra saldırıya uğradı.
Saldırıda bir erkek ve bir kadın olmak üzere iki İsrail Büyükelçiliği personeli hayatını kaybetti.
SALDIRGAN YAKALANDI
Metropolitan Polis Departmanı Şefi Pamela A. Smith, saldırının tek bir şüpheli tarafından gerçekleştirildiğini ve bu kişinin gözaltına alındığını açıkladı.
GÖZALTINA ALINIRKEN 'ÖZGÜR FİLİSTİN' DEDİ
30 yaşındaki ABD'li saldırgan Elias Rodriguez'in gözaltına alınırken "Özgür Filistin" sloganı attığı belirtildi.
Polis Şefi Smith, şüphelinin olay öncesinde müze önünde bir ileri bir geri dolaştığını, ardından ateş açtığını ve sonrasında müzeye girerek etkinlik güvenliği tarafından etkisiz hale getirilip gözaltına alındığını ifade etti.
İSRAİL ALARMDA
Yaşanan saldırının ardından İsrail alarm durumuna geçti.
İsrail'in Birleşmiş Milletler Büyükelçisi Danny Danon, sosyal medyadan yaptığı açıklamada silahlı saldırıyı "ahlaksız bir anti-Semitik terör eylemi" olarak nitelendirdi.
"AHLAKSIZ BİR YAHUDİ KARŞITI SALDIRI"
Danon, İsrail'in hedef alındığını işaret ettiği açıklamalarında şu ifadelere yer verdi:
“Washington’daki Yahudi Müzesi’nde düzenlenen etkinlik sonrasında gerçekleşen silahlı saldırı, ahlaksız bir antisemitik terör eylemidir. Yahudi toplumuna yönelik saldırılar kırmızı çizginin aşılmasıdır. ABD’li yetkililerin bu suçun sorumlularına karşı sert adımlar atacağından eminiz. İsrail, vatandaşlarını ve temsilcilerini dünyanın her yerinde kararlılıkla korumaya devam edecektir.”
